When I had an issue with my TPMS, I had to reset it regularly since the reset would fix the problem for a few/a few days before the failing battery(s) triggered a new defect.

Every few/several days, I had to reset my TPMS since the reset would fix the problem for a few/several days until the failing battery(s) triggered a fresh error.

To do so, press the car button while the vehicle is in Park (some versions require that only the ignition accessory is turned on (engine off), then scroll down the menu until you see the Tire Pressure Monitor option about half way down.

Testing a sensor that is about to die will not be able to detect the problem since they are unable to test battery strength – they can only test whether or not the sensor is transmitting a signal at all.
