I don’t believe there is a method to turn off the TPMS. I experienced the same issue with my VMRs (which did not have TPMS), and the TPMS error would always come up when it did. I took it to the tire shop so that my winter tires could be placed on my S-Line rims, which were already there. The wheels did not have tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). TPMS should allow you to swap out rims and tires without having to worry about the TPMS or spending money on sensors if you are using the system that we have here in Canada. 12-23-2009 12:00:10 p.m. Members with more than 12 years of service receive four rings.

After getting my winter tires fitted on my S-Line rims, I took it to a tire shop for a look. It was discovered that the wheels did not have tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS). TPMS should allow you to swap out rims and tires without having to worry about the TPMS or spending money on sensors if you are using the system that we have in Canada. What about the MY2010 and up?

I just disabled my 2008 Q7 TPMS today, and I wanted to share my procedure with you all.

Tire pressure monitoring system
Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS): As an extra safety precaution, your vehicle has been fitted with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which displays a low tire pressure warning when one or more of your tires are considerably underinflated. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) simply delivers a low tire pressure warning and does not automatically reinflate your tires. To ensure that your tires are properly inflated when the low tire pressure warning light shines, you should pull over and inspect your tires as soon as possible after they are illuminated.
Under-inflation also has a negative impact on fuel efficiency and tire tread life, as well as the handling and stopping ability of the vehicle.
TPMS malfunction indicator
In addition, a TPMS failure indicator has been installed in your vehicle to alert you if the system is not functioning properly. The TPMS malfunction indication is used in conjunction with the low tire pressure warning indicator. Whenever a fault is detected by the system, the telltale will flash for roughly one minute before being continually lighted. As long as the fault persists, this cycle will be repeated every time the vehicle is started up after that. The tire pressure monitoring system monitors the air pressure in all four road wheels while the vehicle is moving.
Whenever the tire pressure monitoring system detects a substantial loss of air pressure in one or more tires, text messages and yellow symbols appear in the instrument cluster display to notify the driver. When the tire is considerably underinflated, the warning light in the instrument cluster illuminates to alert the driver. When there is a fault in the system, the warning light C will also glow. Keep in mind that tire pressure is affected by the temperature of the tire as well as other factors.
While the car is driving, the tire warms up and the tire pressure rises as a result.
Only when the tires are cold, and the temperature of the tires is approximately the same as the temperature of the surrounding air, should pressure be applied.
The tire pressure is shown on the B-pillar on the driver’s side or on the inside of the gasoline filler flap on the passenger side.

- Please keep in mind that the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is not a substitute for proper tire maintenance, and that it is the driver’s responsibility to maintain proper tire pressure, even if under-inflation has not reached the level that will cause the TPMS low tire pressure warning light to illuminate. Monthly, while the tires are cold, each tire, including the spare, should be checked for proper inflation pressure according to the recommendations made by the vehicle manufacturer on the vehicle placard or the tire inflation pressure label. The right tire inflation pressure for your vehicle’s tires should be determined if your vehicle’s tires are a different size from the size specified on the vehicle placard or tire inflation pressure label.

Hello, everyone. I recently purchased a 2007 Rs4 and am now working on a few projects, one of which is the installation of a tyre pressure monitoring system. One of the sensors was missing from one of the wheels, which I have since replaced; all other sensors are operational, as proven by testing them with an aftermarket universal tyre pressure monitoring receiver and programmer (available from aftermarket vendors). The tyre pressure system had been coded out of the dash (which I have now reprogrammed using), and when it was read for faults, it just had a 0 for the pressure system.
- I have also tried taking the air out of the tires to wake them up, but this has had no results.
- Can somebody please assist me in resolving this issue?

- It would be beneficial if you could provide an Auto-Scan so that we can view all of the information of the car and its system.
- Consequently, the issue arises as to why the controller is not aware of this information.
- Is it’speaking the same language’ as the other sensors, or is it speaking a different language?
- If you choose a drive and data logMeasuring Value Block group, this is often the group that reads and displays all of the transmitting sensors that the system detects.
It’s possible that you’ll need to test a different/different sensor once you’ve finished data logging and only see the three sensor ID’s that were logged.
drpeter IIRC, there are two versions of the tyre pressure sensors available that send on different frequencies (USEU AFAIK), are you 100 percent certain that you have one that transmits on the proper frequency for a UK-registered vehicle?
I’ll do an auto scan and then check 16 once more.

- The B7 does not have this feature since altering the pressure warning settings necessitates updating the coding of the module in question, which I did every Summer when I owned my B7 RS4 and would be traveling on vacation with my entire family.
- Anyone have any ideas why it won’t preserve the new ID’s on their computer?
- Shouldn’t changing the pressure warning settings by changing the coding modify the pressures that are stated in the first place?
- I’ve tried leaving it alone as per one of the methods that I read, but it didn’t work.
In one instance, when I had the tyres changed, the warning did not appear until I had driven a couple of miles; however, I believe I read somewhere that the wheel sensors “sleep” to conserve battery life when the vehicle is not in motion, which would suggest that leaving the vehicle standing would leave the sensors sleeping, and it might be worth trying to wake them up with a short drive.

Addendum: It has been suggested that I can assign the ID number of one of the sensors stores to the new one that I’ve installed using an aftermarket tool to which I have access, but I am unable to do so with one of the remaining sensors stores as they have neither an id number nor any other markings; can anyone explain why this is the case?
TPMS DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION – Audi A4, 2002-2009
Following the passage of the TREAD Act in 2007, all new cars built in the United States beginning in 2008 must be equipped with either direct or indirect tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). Depending on the year, the Audi A4 (S4 8E B6, S4 8E B7, S4 8K B7) is equipped with either an indirect or a direct TPMS system. The indirect TPMS system is standard on all models except the S4 8E B6. Indirect tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) have TPMS sensors mounted in the wheel; if one or more tires show low tire pressure, the TPMS sensors will communicate this information to the vehicle’s electronic control unit (ECU).
The indirect TPMS system does not have any TPMS sensors in the wheel; instead, the wheel speed is used to determine the TPMS level through the ABS system.

Indirect relearn procedure
Audi/A4-S4, 8K D8 (2011-2019), Audi (2011 is split direct and indirect manufactured, use VIN scan feature on VT56 to determine which system)
- There are no sensors in the tire with an indirect tire pressure monitoring system. Tire pressures should be adjusted according to the placard value. Activate the parking brake
- Turn the ignition key to the on position. Select CAR from the drop-down menu, then press the menu button to move to the next screen. Servicing and inspections should be selected. Select Tire Pressure Monitoring from the drop-down menu. The calibration of the TPMS is completed automatically.
