Re: Location of Computer Module

Postbygodsgirl1986» Hello. I’m attempting to find the PC that I left in my truck. I was involved in a car accident a few days ago, and water got inside my truck while it was flipped over. I need to know where the computer is so that I can check to see whether it is on the side of the vehicle that had water in it, or if it is simply a miracle that it is still there. Please, someone assist me.

Postbygodsgirl1986» Hello. The computer in my automobile is nowhere to be found. Several days ago, I was involved in an accident and water entered my truck, which was on its side at the time. I just wanted to point out that this information is wrong, at least in regards to our f150s, since the BCM is present in our Ford pickup trucks.

Ordinarily, it may be found on the left rear wall of standard cabs, however it is positioned on the left back wall of supercabs and crewcabs.

Tools Needed

Figure 2: Disconnect the battery from the computer. Disconnect your battery’s negative (black) wire from the rest of the system. Step 2: Locate the PCMFigure 3: The position of the PCM. Open your hood and look for the PCM. Take note of the numbers that are inscribed on it.

Step 3 – Look up the PCM number

The PCM may be identified by looking up its serial number on the module and comparing it to the vehicle’s model, year, drive train components, and engine. Any auto store will allow you to enter the number in order to guarantee that you are purchasing the correct part for your vehicle.

Step 4 – Install the new module

Installing a new PCM module (see Figure 5). Based on your observations, you should purchase the new module. Installing a new module without first comparing it to an old module is a bad idea. The connections and mounting points should be the same size and shape. Once a module has been plugged in, it will almost never be accepted as a return item in most places. Before you install the new module, make sure you have completed all necessary flash upgrades. Remove the old module by carefully moving it out of the way, and then replace it with the new module.

Step 5 – Reconnect the battery

Figure 6. Reconnect the battery to the computer. After reconnecting your batteries in the reverse order that you unplugged it, turn on your truck and drive away.

Ford F-150 Questions – Where is the Fuel Pump Driver Module located?

I’m just throwing in this notion or something I discovered when driving my 1989 Ford F150 5.0 2WD extended cabXLT. In the area where it won’t start, I can wiggle or push the wires down by my left foot at the fire wall from side to side, which allows the engine to crank but not start. Then I may transfer those cables to a location where it will be able to start. My truck is acting as though the fuel pump is failing; I will need to track down the faulty wire to see whether this is the case. If you suspect that the problem is with your fuel pump, start it and wriggle those wires to see if it causes the problem.

You could also want to wriggle the wires under the hood to make sure they are not frayed.

However, it is possible that a faulty circuit is causing the gasoline pump to shut off.

One low pressure pump in each tank and one high pressure pump that bolts to the frame under the driver’s side seat are installed in my dual-tank arrangement. This was reported to be helpful by 6 people.
