A 2008 Chrysler TownCountry minivan was acquired by me in June of 2008. My two young children and I frequently go on road trips, and as a result, my van has logged more than 16,000 miles in the past month alone. First and first, let me state that I have been quite delighted with the van thus far, and I continue to be pleased with it in its general performance. Surprised, I was.

  • When I informed them that this had happened, they were startled since there was no noise, no squeaking, no grinding – nothing to give me any warning.
  • My expectation was that brakes would last longer than they did.
  • Was there a reason why they were checking the brakes at that point?
  • They were well aware that their front brakes needed to be checked out.
  • They didn’t allow me drive the van home since my brakes were in such horrible state, they said they couldn’t.
  • Chrysler is aware of what is occurring.
  • However, since I had a personal relationship with the dealership, I was told the truth about what was going on in the dealership.
  • Without that leaking tire, and without the technicians taking it upon themselves to inspect the front brakes, who knows when – and how – I would have learned that my brakes were in need of replacing?
  • How come Chrysler is only making improvements to the vans that are brought in, and I’m being forced to pay $330 while they are well aware that there is an issue with the vehicles already in place?

If so, is it time to ask for a recall. Someone with a low mileage vehicle who is driving a vanload of children and learns that their brakes are no longer working, I believe, should be handled. I am positive that there is a problem with quality, and Chrysler will be informed of this.

Ford Edge Brake Abs Warning Light Problems

When I was driving my 2013 Edge (which had 148,000 miles on it), the brakes unexpectedly refused to engage, prompting me to attempt to divert away from traffic in order to avoid colliding with another car. Before this, there had never been a warning or an issue. The pedal will then be depressed all the way to the floor. Edge features a fsa item for an extended warranty on the break booster that may be purchased. When I took it to the dealership, I was told that the master cylinder was faulty.

When I looked up customer complaints about this, I discovered that the 2011-2013 Ford F150s were experiencing the same problem, and that Ford was replacing both the master cylinder and the brake booster at no charge.

It appears to be experiencing the same problems as mine, despite the fact that my brakes are in fine working order.

However, I am not convinced that this is correct, as I had a mechanic examine the vehicle prior to taking it to the dealership and they determined that the problem was with the brake booster and master cylinder. See a list of all the troubles with the 2013 Ford Edge.

2007 Ford Edge ABS, Traction Control, and wrench lights on.

The ABS, Traction Control, and wrench lights are illuminated on a 2007 Ford Edge. Greetings, fellas. A 2007 Ford Edge AWD with 110,000 miles on the odometer. The ABS, Traction Control, and wrench lights came on as my wife was getting ready to leave for church this morning. She continued on to church, where they remained. When she was driving away from church, she noticed that her car was making the noise that occurs when the anti-lock braking system (ABS) is triggered. Unsure whether it was truly triggered or not.

  • Sensor for Wheel Speed (C1155).
  • Failure of the hydraulic base brake on the C1140 I attempted to clear the codes, but AE informed me that the car would not allow me to do so.
  • Cleaning and inspecting the sensors and tone rings was completed, and then the sensors were reinstalled.
  • I took the car for a spin and noticed that the brakes were a touch stiff.
  • The fact that both front sensors are failing at the same time leads me to believe that something else is at fault.
  • I’ve looked elsewhere for some information on the code, but haven’t come up with anything.

Traction control problems

My 2010 Ford Edge has been experiencing traction control issues, where the vehicle begins to bog down for no apparent reason and the traction control light begins to flicker on and off. It does not do this all of the time, but when it does, it makes driving feel extremely unsafe. When it was acting up, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day than we did yesterday. This car has been well-taken care of, and it has never even been on a dirt road. I took it to the dealership, where they hooked it up to a computer and determined that there were no error codes present.

I’m basically stuck waiting because they don’t have a solution at the moment.

Is this something that has happened to anyone else?

Occasionally, the car will simply switch off and I will be unable to press the accelerator. I’ve had to pull over to the side of the freeway multiple times in the past few months. I took it to the Ford dealership, where they determined that a sensor had failed and that it had been repaired. However, the problem reappeared a few days later.

Immediately following the expiration of the 30-day return period, the traction control button illuminated and remained illuminated until the ignition was switched off. This has happened three times in less than two weeks. I’ve taken the automobile to two different dealers in order to get it fixed. The two of them instructed me to carry it in when the lights were turned on. On the third episode, I was able to bring my automobile into the dealership during regular business hours (they were closed whenever the light did come on previously).

  • On 10/10/11, the traction control was activated once more.
  • After storing it overnight, they even requested that the mechanic drive it home tonight to check whether the light illuminates.
  • I am dissatisfied with the situation and want it resolved.
  • Please let me know if you have discovered a solution to this problem.

The light flashes exclusively on right-hand turns and activates the braking system, forcing the car to slow down and jolt around the corner as a result of the brakes. When traveling at a sluggish speed, this occurs frequently. The situation has increasingly deteriorated. I’ve taken the car to the local Ford mechanic twice already, and neither time have I been satisfied. The first time, they upgraded the computer and completely deleted all of the codes.

Unfortunately, I’m still experiencing the same issue.

I had previously requested that they examine the shocks and struts, but this did not occur.

PostbyCherina1» I’ve had my pre-owned 2007 Ford Edge for about three years and am experiencing troubles that are similar to yours. When I make a turn, the traction light illuminates and then locks up, as if my maneuver is inherently dangerous. After three Ford dealerships, they determined that the problem had been resolved by changing my two back tires. In addition, they were unable to “recreate” the situation. The traction light came back on the same day I received the car back from the dealer.

It’s been worse since then.

I’m going to give them one more opportunity before I toss this device out of my house completely.

When I went to check at the wheel speed sensors, I noticed that the ring on the drive shaft that the sensors are looking at had shattered and was now spinning on the shaft. TCS Light

  1. The Traction Control Light (TCL) operates in the same way as the Check Engine Light (CEL) in that vehicle sensors recheck the condition that caused the TCS light and turn the TCS light off when they determine that the problem has been resolved. After repairing your TCS or stability light, you should drive the car for a few minutes to provide the vehicle’s computer enough data to be confident that the traction is good
  2. Otherwise, call a tow truck. Because you may manually override the Traction Control Light in situations when you need to get unstuck from heavy snow or mud, make sure to remember to switch it back on after you have finished. Also, keep in mind that the TCS light remains on even after the stability control system is turned off, so make sure that the other feature is turned on as well.
