This is an issue that I have also encountered. The CEL illuminated and the vehicle entered RP mode, so I brought it to O’Riley’s, where they determined that the problem was the gas pedal sensor. I rebuilt the entire component and had them clear the codes. For the remainder of the day, I had no problems with it. After turning off CEL overnight, it turned back on the next morning with the same code. The technician at O’Riley’s cleaned things up once again and instructed me to unplug the battery and let the computer to restart, so I turned it off for the night.

Two days later, the dreaded CEL and code were back, with the code still indicating that the pedal sensor was malfunctioning.

I’m assuming the sensor on the TB could be faulty, but I’m not sure because I’m not experienced with drive by wire technology in general.
