Is a relay the same as a fuse?
Fuses are included on all your car’s various electrical circuits to protect components from surges of electricity. Relays are remote switches that open or close an electrical circuit. For example, only a little electricity is needed for the headlight switch that turns your headlights on and off.
Does a fuse go before or after a relay?
3 Answers. The fuse should always be the first thing a power supply hits when it gets to a circuit. The reason is pretty simple. In the event of a fault that blows the fuse, the power is isolated to where it entered the circuit, thus the whole circuit is protected.
Fuse Box Diagram Ford Fusion (2006-2009)
In this article, we’ll look at the first-generation Ford Fusion (US) before it had a facelift, which was built between 2006 and 2009. Here you will discover Ford Fusion fuse box schematics for the years 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009, as well as information on the position of the fuse panels within the vehicle and the functions assigned to each fuse (fuse layout) and relay (relay assignment).
Fuse Layout Ford Fusion 2006-2009
In the Instrument panel fuse box, the cigar lighter (power outlet) fuse is fuse No15 (Cigar lighter), whereas the console power point fuse in the Engine compartment fuse box is fuse No17 (2006-2007) or No22 (2008-2009) (Console power point).
Passenger compartment
When you are driving, you will find your fuse panel below and to the left of your steering wheel near your brake pedal.
Engine compartment
The power distribution box is housed in the engine compartment of the vehicle.

Fuse box diagram Ford Fusion and relay with assignment and location
For the years 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011, a Ford Fusion subcompact van was constructed in Germany at a facility using gasoline and diesel engines displacing 1.2-1.4-1.6-liters. It was sold in the European Union as the Fusion subcompact van. During this time span, the automobile saw one styling revision. The Ford Fusion fuse boxes and relays are described in detail in our material, which also includes schematics and images of the fuse boxes and relays. Separately, we should mention the fuse that is in charge of the cigarette lighter.
The function of the boxes diagram elements may be different from what is seen in the illustration.
Also, if you have a Ford Fusion from a different generation (models from 2012), you should read this paper carefully.
Engine compartment
It is joined to the battery from the side, on the positive wire, and is made up of high-power fuse-links to protect the battery. Lifting the battery itself is required in order to have access to it. DiagramDesignation
FА | 80A Auxiliary heater (heater RTS) |
FB | 60A Gearbox |

FE | 60A Lighting equipment and general electronic module (GEM) |
FF | 60A Ignition |
FG | 60A Engine and lighting equipment |
FH | 60A Heated windshield, ABS, ESP, glass lifters |
Relay box
This unit, which has the shape of a square, is positioned adjacent to the battery. DiagramFunctions
- A / C shutdown at wide open throttle is performed by pressing R1. R2 is a high-speed engine cooling fan
- R3 is an auxiliary heater (RTS heater)
- R4 is an auxiliary heater (RTS heater)
- R5 is an auxiliary heater (RTS heater).
Passenger compartment
The main fuse and relay box, which is positioned in the passenger compartment beneath the glove compartment, is the most important component. For access, you must gently squeeze the sides of the walls together a little. The real task will be depicted as a diagram on the inside back cover of the book. DiagramAssignment
