My 2012 XLT has the complete center console with shifter and a speaker in the center of the dash (Sony sound) in place of the module that was on my previous vehicle, which was the previous vehicle. There is a possibility that I will have to splice some wires on the Sony amplifier, which is intended to be housed inside the console, in order to get it to work.
Have a good time with it.

Ford F150: PCM Replacement How to
When it comes to your Ford F-150 vehicle, what is the PCM and how do you repair it? We go over all of the specifics and methods required to do this. The Ford F-150 is the subject of this article (2004-2014). The PCM is known as the ‘brain’ of your Ford F-150. All functions are controlled by a central computer, which regulates everything from the charging system to transmission to numerous emission controls and communications to navigation. If your PCM fails, you may notice the following symptoms: an illuminated engine light, difficulty starting the vehicle, engine stalling while driving, or poor performance.
- When conducting your research, make sure to look for any Service Bulletins that may have been issued for your particular vehicle.
- The DTCs contain information that may be used to narrow down the cause of a failure to a single component.
- This information is obtained by reading the DTCs from the interface connection, which is situated beneath the dashboard.
- Before disassembling anything, get some information about your PCM in addition to scanning the codes.
- In order to discover the PCM for your individual car, you should seek it up on the internet or in your owner’s handbook.
- The PCM is placed below the driver’s kick panel, with the connection extending through the firewall on the majority of contemporary F-150s, according to Ford.
- The wires must be well insulated and free of breakage.

Figure 2: Disconnect the battery from the computer. Disconnect your battery’s negative (black) wire from the rest of the system. Step 2: Locate the PCMFigure 3: The position of the PCM. Open your hood and look for the PCM. Take note of the numbers that are inscribed on it.
Step 3 – Look up the PCM number
The PCM may be identified by looking up its serial number on the module and comparing it to the vehicle’s model, year, drive train components, and engine. Any auto store will allow you to enter the number in order to guarantee that you are purchasing the correct part for your vehicle.
Step 4 – Install the new module
Installing a new PCM module (see Figure 5). Based on your observations, you should purchase the new module. Installing a new module without first comparing it to an old module is a bad idea. The connections and mounting points should be the same size and shape.
Once a module has been plugged in, it will almost never be accepted as a return item in most places. Before you install the new module, make sure you have completed all necessary flash upgrades. Remove the old module by carefully moving it out of the way, and then replace it with the new module.
Step 5 – Reconnect the battery
Figure 6. Reconnect the battery to the computer. After reconnecting your batteries in the reverse order that you unplugged it, turn on your truck and drive away.
