When it came to the Ford Focus, Ford did an excellent job of concealing the ECM (electronic control module). Several Ford automobiles have the engine control module installed within the engine bay, and other older models have the engine control module installed behind the kick panel on the passenger side of the vehicle. Ford has discovered a new home for the Focus’s engine: below the glove compartment. Despite the fact that getting to this location appears to be difficult, it is actually rather simple.

This is the information I’m relying on, and that is precisely how mine works as well, and it corresponds to the model numbers on the original module; it is in Dutch, but I have found it to be the most comprehensive description of everything I’ve investigated so far. The SYNC 1.1 1.0 module differs from a module in that it cannot be updated by a software update, but a module may. In my MK7,5 Fiesta, the factory-installed SYNC 1.0 module (AM5T-14D212-AD) was changed with a SYNC 1.1 module (AM5T-14D212-AD) (D1BT-14D212-CC).
- When I needed to upgrade a module, I swapped out the module and rebuilt the module from the ground up.
- As a consequence, I received an additional menu with the opportunity to search for an application on the linked phone.

I needed to visit a Fiesta and was issued a DTC. I had to Bring pd3jcw along with me in order to do some changes with UCDS in order to dismiss it. I’d already found the module for a focus, so I figured I had nothing to lose by asking. As soon as the weather cools down, I’ll start looking for it.
