Okay, I’d want to ask you a question. 06 Escape w/ blinking 4wd light AND an ABS light

10:00 a.m. on April 9, 2009 Date of joining: April 2009 Number of posts: 9 I recently experienced the same issue with my 2006 XLT V6. I had recently purchased it used from a dealer and was experiencing issues with it when I received it. Because of the clunking sounds coming from the back every time I turned, they ended up replacing the differential, as well as the wheel bearings, rotors, and a few other components. Consequently, when I noticed these lights illuminated, I assumed they had something to do with the repercussions described above.

Apparently, when the ABS light illuminates and the 4WD light flashes sporadically, the vehicle is in trouble.

This one shows that one of the four-wheel-drive system’s wheels has slid and spun at speeds in excess of 131 kilometers per hour (sorry, I live in Canada).

The only problem was that I never had a wheel slide on the day it happened, which was frustrating. Especially not in excess of 131 kilometers per hour. I’m thinking it’s a bad wheel sensor or something, so if it happens again, I’ll take it back and have them replace it.

4 wheel drive light stuck on

1999 Ford F-150 I have a problem with my 4×4 indicator lights being stuck on both high and low, which prevents my speedometer from getting an accurate reading. As a result of becoming stuck, I placed the truck into 4 wheel low in order to pull it out, and the light has remained on for a week. The 4wheel drive system is not activated. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery three times to reset the computer, but it didn’t work. If the clicks are coming from under the center dash, you should suspect your GEM module, which is located beneath the top center dash and communicates with the vacuum solenoids to determine when to open or close the vehicle’s vacuum valves.

It was suggested to me that it may be on the rear side of the fuse box.

According to the instructions, the GEM that controls 4 wheel drive as well as numerous other features is situated beneath the steering column, on the rear of the bulkhead.

Connect the battery for at least 10 minutes before attempting any manipulations.

Then, with the use of a junction panel, find and disconnect the bulkhead electrical connectors from the instrument panel.

After that, unhook all of the GEM electrical connectors (3).

Replace the old GEM with the new one and reinstall everything in the reverse sequence.

You will need to drive it for a time in order for the computer to recall its parameters and function appropriately once more.

If it’s an easy project, consider doing it yourself.

Please keep a mind to always request an A tech to work on your vehicle.

I bring my truck into the dealership once in a while when something strange happens that I can’t fix myself without the specialized tools that only the dealership possesses.

Troubleshoot 4WD Light Flashing

Vehicles with four-wheel drive can be shifted either electrically or manually. Electronic four-wheel-drive cars are equipped with warning lights that illuminate when there is a problem with the system. Different manufacturers utilize different transfer cases and control systems in their part-time 4WD cars, and this is true for their transfer cases and control systems. A flashing indication light indicates that the car is shifting, and this is standard practice. Once the vehicle has been placed in the chosen mode, the light should remain illuminated, indicating that the shift into that mode has been successfully completed.

  1. Many 4WD units are equipped with an actuator positioned on the front axle, which is responsible for locking and engaging the front axle for 4WD.
  2. Check to verify if the car is in four-wheel drive ( 4WD ).
  3. Lift one side of the vehicle’s front end and spin the tire to check for flats.
  4. If the tire is difficult to turn or becomes locked, the vehicle is in 4WD.
