Before replacing the BCM, I opted to repair the wiring harness since the wheel hub fix appeared to work for a short period of time, leading me to believe that the repositioning of the wire while doing the hub maintenance was the cause of the problem.

Replacement of the ABS Wiring Harness – Rear Left In order to complete the ABS wire harness replacement, I needed a decent guide, which I could not locate. On other models, there was some information regarding fixing the wire harness; however, there was none that I could find immediately for the Mk5. Recently, I’ve noticed that my ABS/ESP light has begun to illuminate occasionally when driving. While driving, the ABS activated a few of times as I was easing up on the gas. In addition, my cruise control would shut off on its own every now and again as well.

  1. My Rear Left ABS Speed Sensor was found to be faulty, according to the VCDS report I received.
  2. The code changed from having an improbable signal and an electrical fault to only having an electrical fault and no other error codes.
