If you remember back in the day when tapered wheel bearings were the norm, you were taught to set the bearing preload by first setting the bearing and then backing off the wheel nut, then tightening the wheel nut to a specified torque. Corrosion in the connections, weak connections between the connector pins or frayed wiring from improper routing can all cause the signal to be weakened or non-existent.Be sure to inspect and clean the connectors, or replace them as necessary. Follow the OEM’s wire routing and use quality components.
