If you have an ADV E R T I S E M E N T SALL, the keys to the vehicle will not work when the vehicle is first started. IT HAPPENED OUT OF THE BLUE WITHOUT ANY PREVIOUS NOTICE. You have to fiddle with the key for an inordinate amount of time to get it to work, which takes a minimum of five minutes and sometimes more than half an hour. Once you get it turned on, DO NOT remove the key from the ignition, or you will have to do the process over. This is a problem that the Honda dealership has noticed with older models, according to the dealership.

  • We are unable to pay for the valet service and hence must always leave the key in its ignition at all times.

Odyssey LX 3.5L

For several months, I had an issue with the key sticking (on sometimes), and then it wouldn’t start until a few days ago when it wouldn’t start anymore. I went on the internet and found a plethora of information on how to fix it. We were able to find some useful information on YouTube on removing the ignition. Here’s how to get it fixed for less than $20.00. Go to YouTube and seek for videos on how to remove the ignitions from the Honda accord and other Honda vehicles. (I know we’re working on correcting the odyssey, but they’re all the same to me.).

  • Take your key and your lock to a local locksmith for repair.
  • Reinstall the ignition system.
  • OTHER POSSIBILITIES If at all feasible, have your automobile towed to a locksmith or have a locksmith come to your location.

Hondas have an issue with the ignition keys in their vehicles. Honda vehicles such as the Pilot, Accura, and Odyssey are all affected by this problem.
