Nissan Liftgate problems
Nissan Liftgate difficulties are becoming more common in stores, according to the manufacturer. Nissan has released a service bulletin, BT12-021C, to address Nissan liftgate issues on the cars indicated in the following table. According to the bulletin, the liftgate motors are tuned to guarantee smooth liftgate performance as long as the door hinges and striker are in excellent working order and correctly calibrated as described in the manual. If the back door reverses and shuts while being opened with an automated or power open action, a re-calibration should be performed.

If you hit the side of the door with a lot of force when the door is open, the door will close. If you make any adjustments to the door hinges or striker,

2014-’16 Nissan Rogue Recalled for Rear Liftgate Problem
WASHINGTON— According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Nissan North America is recalling 108,503 Nissan RogueSUVs from 2014 to 2016. The recall is due to a rear liftgate problem. The rearliftgate support stays may erode as a result of inadequate anti-corrosion treatment, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s recall statement. According to the manufacturer, ‘corrosion of one or both of the rear liftgate support supports might result in a rapid release of pressure.’ The support stays may come loose as a result of this, increasing the danger of personal damage.’ Federal safety officials were told by Nissan that the company has not ‘seen any difficulties in the U.S.
Nissan dealerships will replace the existing tailgate stays with new ones.
Once the components are made accessible, a second notification will be issued.
According to Edmunds, parts are not immediately accessible, and owners will have to wait for an official announcement.
SOLVED: Trunk door closing issues. Closes by itself.
For anyone who is unable to locate their handbook or just wishes to have this information spoon-fed to them as I did: SETTING THE POSITION OF THE LIFTGATE The lift gate may be programmed to open to a certain height by completing the following steps: Lift gate access can be gained by use of the request switch or the Intelligent Key. 2. Lower the liftgate to the appropriate position and hold the liftgate in that position (the liftgate will have some resistance when being manually adjusted). To activate the liftgate, push and hold the liftgate switch situated on the liftgate for roughly 5 seconds, or until three beeps are heard, while keeping the liftgate in its position.
Liftgate position can be changed by following the same procedure as described in Steps 1-3 for establishing liftgate position.
Once the back trunk reached the maximum height, I physically prevented it from clising any further, and the door stopped closing.
Afterwards, I pressed and held the shut button on the trunk door for around 5 seconds, until I heard two beeps, and then I released the button. This restored the liftgate to its previous state. Thank you to everyone who took the time to contribute to this topic. Work as a team!

- * When necessary, refer to the Service Manual (section BL 2004-07 section DLK 2008-2010).
- NOTE: It is possible that you will not need to remove the bottom baggage finishing in its entirety.
- * Bolt ‘B’ should be checked.
- * The threads of the replacement bolt should be treated with Permatex Medium Strength Threadlocker Blue or a comparable product.
- NOTE: If bolt ‘B’ is missing, be careful to locate the missing bolt and remove it from the vehicle as soon as possible.

Power Liftgate Not Working/But Resolved
About six months ago, I experienced the identical issue on my 2013 SL. Using this site, I was able to find the right repair response, complete with photos. It took me around 20 minutes to tighten the loose bolt. Two days ago, though, the liftgate was climbing to the peak of its cycle when it bounced a couple of times and suddenly closed on its own. Although I attempted to open it several times, the door would not remain open. On my most recent attempt, I held it in the elevated position as it attempted to close.
- I was able to manually lower the liftgate, and it automatically locked after that.
- To say that I was a little concerned that I had done some significant harm was an understatement.
- I looked up Autozone and Pep Boys on the internet.
- There were similar OEM components available from an authorized internet vendor, which I found to be a good match.
- Thought this wouldn’t work, but one of my lift tubing was leaking, so I tried it.
- I assumed I’d have to unscrew the mounting bracket, but it turned out that all I needed was a small flat tip screwdriver to push the springs off the ends of the tube, and they came right out.
- I had to raise the liftgate to the maximum height of its range, which resulted in both ends of the lift tube popping off the ‘ball’ end of the mounting bracket.
- I dismounted and remounted one side at a time, working my way around the bike.
- Once the vehicle was in position, I manually closed the liftgate, which then secured in place.
- Because of the new lift tubes, I was able to physically raise it once more before it rose on its own.
I gave it a couple more tries, and it is finally functioning as it should have been. It took a total of 10 minutes to complete the correction. [QUOTEthis is quite helpful, thank you; I’ve had this problem for quite some time and am not the type to take it to a dealership to get it fixed. haha
