How to Fix
As is the case with most error codes, the quickest way to resolve P0103 is to reset the code and see whether it returns after running it through a road test.
- Check all of the electrical connectors to ensure that they are properly connected following that. You may alternatively remove the MAF and properly clean it using a spray cleaner, such as electrical contact cleaner or brake cleaning, before reinstalling it. Always be cautious with the sensor

If you have a P0103, keep in mind that there may be other codes present. Whether you have misfire or oxygen sensor errors, it is critical to adopt a “big picture” approach to diagnosing the problem and understanding how the various systems interact and interact with one another.
What can I do to diagnose and repair a P0103 engine code?
- Visually verify all MAF sensor wiring and connectors to ensure that they are in good condition, are not frayed or damaged, and are not routed too close to ignition wires/coils, relays, motors, or other electrical components. This DTC may be activated at idle or during deceleration if the minimum air rate through the sensor bore is too low for the sensor. Make a visual inspection for any vacuum leaks occurring downstream of the MAF sensor. Monitor sensor data from the MAF sensor, oxygen sensors, and other sensors in real time with a scan tool. Ensure that you have checked for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for your specific make and model in the event that your vehicle has a recognized problem. In the beginning, the barometric pressure (BARO) that is utilized to compute the expected MAF value is based on the MAP sensorat key ON
- However, as time progresses, the MAP sensorat key OFF is employed. An excessive amount of resistance in the ground circuit of theMAP sensor might cause this DTC to be activated.
