Where is the cigarette lighter fuse on a 2000 Honda Accord?

What is the ACG fuse?

The important ACG (S) fuse (#24) protects the ignition switch circuit that supplies battery power to the main relay, which in turn supplies battery power to the fuel pump. You probably only need to worry if the fuse blows every time you insert a new one.

All you need for this is your ignition key.

  1. Insert the ignition key in the Accord’s driver-side door lock.
  2. Turn the key to the unlock position.
  3. Turn the key to the lock position.
  4. Turn the key back to the unlock position. The alarm should now be disabled.

What does a fuse look like when it is blown?

Look at the fuse wire. If there is a visible gap in the wire or a dark or metallic smear inside the glass then the fuse is blown and needs to be replaced. A reading of OL (Over Limit) definitely means a blown fuse. If the fuse is blown, replace the fuse with one that is exactly the same (see panel).

Honda Accord (1997-2002) Fuse Diagram • FuseCheck.com

Diagram showing the fuse box (fuse layout), position of fuses and relays on a Honda Accord Mk6 (DX, LX, SE, LX-V6, EX, EX-V6), as well as the fuses and relays’ assignments (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002).

Checking and Replacing Fuses

First and foremost, if something electrical in your automobile stops working, you should look for and replace any blown fuses that may have occurred. Using the chart and/or diagram on the fuse box lid, determine which fuse or fuses are in charge of controlling that component. Check those fuses first, but make sure you check all of the fuses before concluding that a blown fuse is not the source of the problem. Replace any blown fuses and double-check the functionality of the component.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position (0). Check to see that the headlights and all other equipment are turned off before continuing. Remove the fuse box lid from its mounting bracket
  2. Examine the wires inside each of the major fuses in the under-hood fuse box by peering through the top of the fuse box. A Phillips-head screwdriver is required for the removal of these fuses. Take a look at all of the fuses in the under-hood fuse box, as well as any fuses in the interior fuse boxes, by drawing each one out using the fuse puller that is supplied in the under-hood fuse box. Look for a charred wire inside the fuse to investigate. It should be replaced with a fuse from the spare fuse box that has the same or lower rating than the burnt fuse. If you are unable to drive the vehicle without addressing the problem, and you do not have a spare fuse, remove a fuse with the same rating or a lower rating from one of the other circuits and replace it with the same or a lower rating. Check to see if you can get by without that circuit for a while (such as the cigarette lighter or radio). If you replace the blown fuse with a spare fuse that has a lower rating, it is possible that the fuse may blow out again shortly after. This does not imply that something is wrong. Replacement of the blown fuse with a new one of the proper rating should be done as quickly as possible
  3. If a replacement fuse of the same rating fails within a short period of time, there is most likely a significant electrical problem with your vehicle. Rather than replacing it, simply leave the blown fuse in place until a trained mechanic can inspect it.

Replacement of a fuse with one with a higher rating considerably increases the likelihood of causing damage to the electrical system. You should utilize a lower rating for the replacement fuse, if you do not have an appropriate replacement fuse available for the circuit you are working on.

Honda Accord Fuse Box Diagram

If you’ve ever had a fuse blow, you understand how disoriented you might feel while attempting to make sense of it all. Check out this Honda Accord fuse box diagram to figure out what each fuse performs and how to wire them all together. The Honda Accord is the subject of this essay (1990-2002). It might be difficult to figure out how to open a fuse box. There are frequently dozens of colorful fuses present, each of which is of a different size and has a distinct function. Fuses will, unavoidably, blow out at some time, necessitating their replacement.

Blowing fuses can result in a variety of issues, including the inability to operate your dash lights or the failure of your music system.

Fuse Box Diagrams

Finding the fuse box diagram for your vehicle’s year, make, and model will be the initial step in this process. These can be found in your owner’s handbook or on the internet. If you have lost or misplaced your owner’s manual, you may also obtain a copy from Honda’s website after completing the registration process. Alternatively, the owner’s manuals have been made available on ManualOwl.com for download. The diagram will list each fuse and what it performs, which will assist you in identifying the source of the problem.

It’s usually a good idea to have a selection of fuses on available in case one of them blows. The majority of large box retailers and automobile repair shops sell fuse packs that have many different sizes and shapes for a few bucks.

Testing Fuses

Once you have identified the fuse that may be defective, remove it and thoroughly check the center of it. In most cases, if the metal piece connecting the two ends is damaged or visibly scorched, the fuse is likely defective. If it passes the visual inspection, proceed to testing the fuse using a multimeter or a test light to ensure it is in good working order. To begin, configure the meter to measure direct current voltage. While keeping the fuse in its place in the fuse box, put the positive (red) meter probe into the test tab on the left side of the box.

Finally, test the right side of the test tab in the same way as you did the left side.

If the voltage difference between the two sides is not the same, the fuse has blown and must be replaced.

It is possible that the fuse is not receiving electricity from the battery if you do not receive about 12.5 volts on either of the test tabs.
