I purchased a new Pro Line Front Wheel Hub assembly from Pep Boys last year, and a piece of paper that came with it said that the axle nut should be torqued to 118 ft-lbs. 14 months later, the bearing is no longer functional. I recently purchased another one from Napa Auto, and theirs has the same 118 ft-lbs standard, but when I looked online, I discovered that other sites estimate the torque to be approximately 160 ft-lbs. While it’s not clear where these statistics came from, the identical torque standard reference could be accessed across several websites.
Aside from that, is there any kind of trick to this hub?
This is something I do not have a handbook for, so I was hoping that someone out there could have one or at the very least know what to do with it.

This was given to us by one of our clients, and we decided to share it with the world. Hopefully, they may be of use to anyone who is considering taking on this project. These instructions were taken from a 2002 Buick Lesabre Limited, but they are applicable to a wide range of General Motors front-wheel drive cars, including the Buick Lesabre, Park Avenue, Centruy, Regal, Riviera, and Rendezvous, among others.
