I was able to get an excellent PDF of the truck’s entire electrical schematics, which I was able to print off. It’s a very amazing piece of work. The majority of other discussions indicate that there is a theft prevention issue, however this is not the case with this truck.

When I use a jumper to bypass the relay, the engine starts right up.

Everything that has anything to do with the PCM, PATS, starter, ignition, shift solenoid, or any of the other components has been verified and bench tested (thinking maybe the truck was stuck in gear).

I’ve also tried swapping out all of the relays to see if anything changes, but to no avail.

Ultimately, I believe that the PCM is failing to do its responsibilities.

Recently, the vehicle has been running smoothly and has not been parked.

It appears that fuel and/or spark are involved, which leads me to believe that the PCM is not functioning properly.

I’ve also tweaked all of the connectors at the fuse panel and the PCM, as well as pretty much all of the other connectors I’ve come across while working on the vehicle, to no avail. Do you have any recommendations?

Make sure you have 12 volts on the battery side of the beginning solenoid while installing the starter solenoid.

Assuming you do go to step 2, be certain that you receive 12 volts on the signal line when someone attempts to start the vehicle.

Assuming this is the case, double-check that you have 12 volts flowing out of your solenoid on the line that connects to the actual starting itself.

Fix for the no-start situation that occurs on Ford vehicles from 2004 to 2008. When the truck’s codes are read, the FPDM (fuel pressure driver module) is often identified as a P1233 diagnostic issue code (OBD-II) by the OBD-II system. A Ford P1233 code is defined as eitherFuel Pump Driver Module Offline orFuel System Disabled or Offline, depending on the manufacturer. A search on Google for Ford P1233 reveals that this P1233 DTC code is not confined to having an issue on only Ford trucks, as revealed by a search on Google for Ford P1233.

BERNIE is a driver module for the fuelpump. If I recall correctly, I just had one changed by a dealer, the component was $121.00 and the labor was $152.00, which sounds like a rip-off but I was stranded. Any thoughts on the cost?
