This morning, I spent an extraordinary amount of time attempting to hunt down the cause of a P0507 code that appeared shortly after I replaced the battery in my 2006 with 114,000 miles. The idle speed would either remain high (over 1,200 RPM) or burst between 1,000 and 1,200 RPM, depending on the situation. It was suspected that the Mass Airflow Sensor was faulty after starting the car with the air intake open (and the air filter removed). Disconnected the electrical connection to the MAF and restarted the motor. There was no change in behavior

It was necessary for me to remove the cap from the coolant reservoir and elevate the tube in order to see coolant spilling into the reservoir.   11. While the engine was revving, I disconnected the IAC. The revving has persisted, therefore it looks improbable that it is the IAC
  12. As previously stated by @Zaid, a possible vacuum leak has been discovered. Start the engine and wait for it to rev before disconnecting the MAF electrical. With a hefty cloth, I blocked the air inlet. Although the revving stopped, the idle remained high. After removing the rag, the engine began to rev. Heavy-duty plastic bag was used to cover the air intake. The engine’s revving stopped and the idle became more normal
  13. While the engine was revving, the electrical connection to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor was disconnected. The engine stalled for a brief period before restarting. It was the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve that was malfunctioning. Thank you very much to everyone for your assistance! I brought it to a mechanic because I was convinced it had a vacuum leak. He checked for leaks and discovered that there was no sign of a leak. He carried out troubleshooting, and his reference material led him to the conclusion that the IAC was the source. Regarding vacuum leaks, he asserted that the recurrent oscillation of the idle changing was incompatible with the presence of a vacuum leak.
