For cars equipped with smart key start, the security car and lock symbol flashes when the key is taken from the ignition or when the engine is turned off, whichever occurs first. A metallic object coming into contact with the grip section of the key, or the key being in close proximity to or contacting another key that has a transponder, are all conditions that may prohibit the engine from starting.
Low Temperature Light
The low temperature warning light on the Toyota RAV4 is represented by the snowflake symbol. Whenever the outside temperature is roughly 37°F (3°C) or below, the low temperature warning light will flash for approximately 10 seconds and then remain on permanently. The snowflake warning light comes on to alert drivers that the roads may be icy and treacherous and that they should proceed with caution.
Downhill Assist Light
The warning light for the Toyota RAV4’s downhill assist control system (DAC) is represented by the downhill facing automobile icon. On steep downhill slopes, the downhill assist system helps to keep the vehicle’s speed from becoming excessive.
When confronted with a steep downhill gradient, hit the DAC button on the dashboard, if one is available. When the car is moving less than 15 mph and the accelerator and brake pedals are depressed, the system will begin to work to reduce speed buildup.

Hello, I’m having an issue with my Toyota Rav 4 petrol 2.0 from 2008. While driving, the ABS indicator as well as three check abs system, 4×4 system, and vsc system messages are illuminated. The problem had occurred previously, and the stop light switch was found to be at fault. A little over two years ago, it was traded. A similar circumstance occurred earlier in December, and then it occurred again two or three more times in the following weeks. At first, I was concerned that the sensor would need to be changed again, but the faults had ceased appearing until then.
- It happened to me after I had driven 12 kilometers.
- After restarting the engine and igniting it, the problem was resolved for a short time, but resurfaced after around 10 kilometers.
- That’s all there is to it.
- Everything returned to normal once the engine was turned off and back on again.
- Is there anyone out there who knows what the explanation may be this time?
